Community Standards.

We want to create a positive and supportive community. When you join FORTUS, you commit to emulating our vision of community. That means you need to respect yourself, others, and these standards. You must also adhere to our Terms of Use and Acceptable Use Policy.

By abiding by our values, we know you and everyone else will enjoy your time using FORTUS.

1.   Keeping yourself safe

Your safety is our #1 priority. But you are the most important person who can ensure your own safety. Do not take unnecessary risks in the gym – use a spotter, safety bars, and build up to heavy weights. Take the lessons of others, and keep your body healthy and strong.

Know when to put your phone down. Don’t use your phone during a set and make sure you aren’t obstructing others when you’re using FORTUS.

You are in control of your own privacy. You don’t have to share all your activities or personal information with others. Use the privacy controls in the App to make sure you’re comfortable with what others can see about you.

2. Be mindful of others. They’re just as important as you.

Be nice, be respectful. FORTUS is about our collective journey. We can’t have a community without its constituent parts working together. Be generous with your compliments, let people use equipment if you aren’t using it, and promote positive body goals. Above all, treat others how you’d want to be treated.

Positive vibes only. Jokes and jabs can be fine in the right context, but we will not tolerate bullying, ridicule, shaming, harassment or other antisocial behaviour on FORTUS.

Keep things appropriate. FORTUS is for the gym. You can refer to our Acceptable Use Policy below for a guide on what not to post on FORTUS. Keep things in their appropriate space. You can use our tools or contact us directly to block, flag, or report content that violates our Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy. If necessary, contact law enforcement.

Originality is paramount. Please make sure you only post your own content to FORTUS. This way you can be proud that what you contribute is 100% you. If needed, give credit where credit is due to others.

3. Our policies and guidelines are in place for a reason.

Respect the law. Where applicable, follow all local rules and regulations with regard to what you are doing.

Respect your gym. Listen to staff, and treat them with courtesy and respect. Do not break any gym rules. Don’t ruin things for others.

Don’t lie. It’s easy to tell when someone isn’t being truthful about what they’ve been doing in the gym. Take care of your reputation. Don’t give anyone a reason to doubt what you can do.
